Privacy notice
Who we are
MarryLoom ("we") is a wedding planning company based in Kochi, Kerala, India. This notice explains what personal data this website collects, why, and your choices. Contact: hello@marryloom.com.
What we collect
- What you send us. When you use the planning form, a date-hold request or WhatsApp, we receive your name, email address and/or phone number, country, and the wedding details you choose to share (dates, destination, guest numbers, messages).
- How you found us. The page you started on, the referring website and campaign tags (such as utm parameters), and your time zone, so we can reply at a sensible hour.
- Basic, cookie-free analytics. Aggregated page views and performance measurements (Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights), without advertising cookies.
- Ad measurement. Which of our ads brought you here, the pages you view, and when you send the planning form, ask the website chat for a person or tap a WhatsApp button. Google receives your IP address and browser details and sets cookies. We never send them your name, phone, email, messages or wedding details. See cookies and ad measurement.
- Website chat. If you use the chat on this website, we save the conversation: your messages, the replies from our AI assistant and our team, the page you were on, and any name, email address or phone number you choose to leave in the chat.
- Your preferences on this device. Your chosen currency (a cookie called
kc_cur), ticks in the wedding checklist (stored only in your browser), and, if you use the chat, a random id for your browser and the chat you have open (chat.visitorandchat.conversation, stored only in your browser), so a chat can continue as you move between pages.
The free tools (the cost calculator, invitation maker, countdown, hashtag generator and QR maker) work in your browser. Invitations live only in their share link; we do not store them.
Why we use it
To reply to your enquiry and plan your wedding (steps you asked for, before a contract), to keep a record of our conversations, to prevent abuse of our forms, and to understand which pages help people. Chats are read by our team and by our AI assistant, to answer you and to hand the chat to a person on our team when you ask for one or the assistant cannot help. We do not sell personal data, and the only advertising use is the ad measurement described below, which never includes your name, contact details or messages.
Who we share it with
Service providers who run this website and our communications for us, under contract: our hosting provider, our database provider, our email provider, WhatsApp (Meta) for messages you choose to exchange with us, the services that run our website chat and its AI assistant, a rate-limiting service and a bot-protection service, and Google for ad measurement (see below). When you book with us, we share the details a vendor needs (for example, names for a rooming list) with that vendor.
Cookies and ad measurement
We use the Google tag (Google Analytics and Google Ads) to see how people find us and which of our ads work. They set cookies in your browser. Google uses what they collect under their own rules: how Google uses information from sites that use its services.
- If you visit from the UK, the European Economic Area or Switzerland: these tags set no cookies until you choose Accept. Before you choose, Google may receive signals without cookies, to estimate how well our ads work. If you choose Reject, they stay off. If we can’t tell where you are visiting from, we ask you too.
- Everywhere else: they are on when a page loads.
- To change your choice: use Cookie settings at the bottom of any page. Reject switches the tags off and removes their cookies from this site. Your choice is saved in your browser for 12 months. Clearing this site’s data resets it.
- What they never get from us: your name, phone, email, messages or the details of your wedding. The tags don’t load on our staff pages.
- How we know where you are visiting from: our host tells the site the country of your connection. We use only the country, and your browser forgets it when you close the tab.
- How long their cookies last: Google’s up to 2 years, unless you clear them or choose Reject.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become weddings are deleted after 24 months. Records for weddings we plan are kept for as long as the law requires for accounting. Website chats are saved for 90 days from when they start and then deleted. You can ask us to delete a chat sooner by writing to hello@marryloom.com.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent to be contacted, by writing to hello@marryloom.com. If you are in India, you have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023; if you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR, including to complain to your data protection authority.
International transfers
We are in India, and some of our providers store data in other countries. We choose providers that protect data to recognised standards.
Changes
We will update this page if our practices change, and change the date at the top.
